It is also with great pleasure that I announce the winner of the Friend in Fashion/ Viparo leather jacket giveaway. Drum-roll please.....

Congratulations to Renna Whaleboat, who is the lucky winner of a brand new cropped sleeve biker jacket.

Dear friends,

There is nothing quite like being a tourist in your own backyard.

This weekend I hit the road, to explore the beautiful coast-line of my new adopted city. A lovely break with great surf, delicious wine and seafood, spectacular scenery and friendly locals - bliss.

Before I headed off, I received these rings from my friend (and fellow blogger), the lovely Katie of Be Inspired. I've become particularly fond of this very sweet peace ring, which I've been wearing with pretty much everything!

Finally, love, kisses and the warmest wishes to my mother on this mothers day.
An amazing woman and my best friend.

I'm wearing:
Shirt, Minkpink, via Market HQ
Dress, Seafolly, via Sunburn Australia
Rings, via Befabyoulous.net
Tights, Kookai

Luv,
Friend in Fashion

P.S. I'm in the running to become the Fantastic Fashionista and would love your vote. You can check out my entry on facebook and vote as many times as you like (once a day).

Over the extra long weekend, we were treated to the perfect Autumn sunshine here in Melbourne.

A fabulous time had, indulging in cuisine from all corners of the world, the obligatory boutique hoping and a fierce bocce tournament with great company in the park.

Over the weekend, I was also thrilled to be involved in a blogger collaboration (alongside the beautiful Bianca and Jess), for the summer look-book of fabulous Melbourne-based accessory label Sarah Conners. I can't reveal too much just yet, but think bright colours, scorching summer heat and exotic locations.

A huge thank you to the incredible photographer of the day, Lee Oliveira. If you haven't already, do yourselves a favour and check out Lee's street-style blog, a true talent, you won't be disappointed.

I'm wearing:
Pants, Finders Keepers, via Frankie Sunshine
Knit, Somedays Lovin, via Market HQ
Necklace, via via Market HQ
Clogs, Rubi

Recently I was introduced to the sweet new Aussie label, Dirty Princess, and was lucky enough to receive this fabulous Dirty Love Baggy Boy Singlet - cute right!

The Dirty Princess range of tees and tanks are characterised by the slouchy, boyfriend-style silhouette that I love so much, and embrace bold graphics that are all about fun, attitude and just a hint of rebellion.

I couldn’t help but style back with my most regal glitter shoes.

I’m wearing:
Singlet via Dirty Princess
Denim shirt, Pimkie
Tube skirt, Supre
Shoes, Markets, Milan

IS STREET STYLE LOSING ITS CREDIBILITY?

"As this "borrowing and referencing" takes place not in capitals of cool like London but on an international scale, via the internet, the result is that same brand of individuality is sold, worn and celebrated the world over, simultaneously. If a global scenester starts wearing their underpants around their neck in Sao Paolo tomorrow, by next week boxer shorts would be sold out in Berlin. Ted Polhemus explains, "If you Google 'street style', you can see street fashion photography from all over the world. What's interesting is not just the images from London or Tokyo, but those from places like Helsinki, Zagreb, Mexico City, Jakarta, even Tehran. People always ask me, 'What's the next big thing?' but there will never again be a next big thing. The future of fashion is that all of these places will participate. There will never ever again be one 'the place'."-Tim Walker, The Independent, UK
