Barely keeping a day to day semblance of a normal schedule going. Going to work, but really for all intensive purposes business in New Orleans is suspended until Ash Wednesday. There's a victory parade for the Saints tonight, a New Orleans version of a New York ticker tape parade, and 60,000 locals are expected to attend. Yesterday 30,000 people lined the streets at and around the airport to welcome the Saints home.
People have been camping out since early this morning wrapped up in blankets curbside to claim a good spot. It's only in the 40's here with a wicked wind from the North making it feel very cold for all of us tropical flowers here in New Orleans.
We have house guests coming on Thursday and staying over until Ash Wednesday.
We're in full Carnival mode, stocking up on libations and food, and planning our costumes and party and parade schedules. We have a ball to go to Friday night.
So the blog is on simmer, as things sizzle here in New Orleans!!!!
